Shopping centres & high-footfall areas

The whole centre walks past your window.Anyone can take a ticket on the way past.

You pay shopping-centre rent for passing trade. When there’s nothing left online, those shoppers walk into the salon next door. With Carden, they take a ticket as they pass, or a slot held back for the same day.

We know your day

Three things that cost you, every day.

The client walking past your window can’t come in
Saturday 3 pm: she has the time, the inclination and your sign right in front of her. Your diary, though, has been closed since Wednesday. You pay for this location precisely for her — and you turned her away three days before she arrived.
You sell your best hours to people who would have come anyway
Saturday slots go first, to organised regulars. The shopper in the centre — the one who decides while walking — arrives after the battle. Your scarcest inventory is sold to the least scarce demand.
Nobody counts the people who leave
Yet it’s THE figure that justifies your rent. How many people opened the door this Saturday and walked out? No software on the market calculates it — so nobody, at head office or in the salon, knows what the location would really bring in.

What Carden changes

Your Saturday slots are the scarcest. Keep some for passing trade.

Part of your slots reserved for the day itself
Like a hotel keeping rooms for the last minute: you decide how many slots stay closed to advance booking. They only appear online on the day — for whoever is already in the centre.
Nothing is lost: what isn’t taken is released
If nobody turns up, the held-back slot goes back to bookings automatically. You’re not betting anything — you’re simply choosing when your stock goes on sale.

What you get out of it

A calm salon, a team free to work.

Seeing a crowd is no longer a reason to leave
A screen in the salon, a ticket on the phone, an honest wait time: they do their shopping and come back. In a shopping centre, the wait is no longer a wall — it’s twenty more minutes of shopping.
Turned-away demand, finally measured
Walk-outs, peak hours, demand you couldn’t serve: three figures per site and combined for the network. Enough to decide on opening hours, staffing — and to negotiate your lease.

On my way

You might be thinking

“If I hold slots back, I risk losing them.”

The opposite happens, and you’re not betting anything: a held-back slot reopens on its own if the day’s demand doesn’t come. We start by measuring for a week — you see how many people left without being served before blocking anything.

“On our busiest days, Carden handles the entire client journey, automated and optimised. We feel so much calmer in the salon!”
Jeffy — Barber Cut

How it works

No building work. Your team cuts, Carden runs the queue.

  1. We install

A kiosk or a simple QR code at the entrance. No building work.

  2. Today’s team checks in

One tap on the tablet. No rota to build.

  3. Everyone takes a ticket

A walk outside, a text to come back on time.

Whatever your set-up

Four ways of welcoming clients, the same overflowing salon.

Shopping mall
Constant footfall, impulse decisions: a visible wait turns a passer-by into a client.
Retail park
People drive in for several errands: a ticket on their phone frees up the waiting time.
Station & busy town centre
Short windows between journeys: immediate availability is the only argument that counts.
Multi-site brand
The same inventory rules everywhere, with combined and per-site figures to make decisions.

What we install

A kiosk, in the format that suits you. Or just a QR code.

Isn’t holding slots back a risk of losing them?+

You’re not betting anything: a held-back slot reopens to bookings automatically if the day’s demand doesn’t turn up. And we always start by measuring for a week — you see how many people left without being served before blocking anything.

What share of slots should I hold back?+

It depends on your real footfall, and that’s exactly what the measurement week establishes. Most shopping-centre salons start at around 20 to 30% of Saturday slots, then adjust on their own figures.

How does it work with the software my brand imposes?+

Carden connects read-only to the existing diary and requires no change of tool. That matters in a franchise: the decision can be made at salon level without touching the network’s system.

What exactly does someone walking past the window see?+

A wait time on the screen in the salon and a QR code: they take a ticket in five seconds, go off shopping and their phone lets them know when their turn is near. No app to install.

What figures go back to head office?+

Three the network has never had: the real wait per site, walk-outs, and the demand you couldn’t serve. Combined and salon by salon — enough to decide on opening hours, staffing and lease negotiations.

How does a multi-site roll-out work?+

We equip a pilot site for three months, with no building work. The network decision is then made on the pilot’s figures, not on a presentation.

Not in the right place?

Every trade loses its slots in its own way.
